My Valentine's Day table.....a little late

I recently won a contest on one of the blogs I follow and she happens to be one of my favs!!!  Give it up for Genevieve of Celebrate2da...The Superchick Way!!!  She sent me a box full of goodies and I got to set the table up for my girls for Valentine's Day.  What could be better???  My girls love being the guinea pigs for  anything I create.  You can see the items I received in my box by going to the original post, HERE!!!

I found an old sheet of my daughter's that kind of went with the Valentine's theme and then I went to town setting up all the stuff I had received.  I also made some marshmallow pops that were covered in dark chocolate and crushed pretzels and took the easy way out and bought some heart shaped donuts from our local Walmart to set up on the table.  The girls were very excited and pleased with how everything turned out.  What do you think??

My daughter is a Rock Star!!

My daughter turned 6 a couple of weeks ago and she picked a party that was very fun!  Bella came to me and said she wanted a Hannah Montana party and I love themed parties but sometimes I feel as if characters like Hannah Montana get used a little too much.  I talked to my daughter and we agreed that a Rock Star birthday would be appropriate with some Hannah Montana mixed in.

I recently saw a blog post from Hostess with the Mostess where a valentine's party was being featured and it included a rock - n - roll sign that said: "Love Rocks!" and I instantly knew it would be wonderful for my party.  I emailed Piggy Bank Parties and requested a custom banner to say:  Bella Rocks!.  They got back to me right away and that was the start of the party.

I decided to make cake pops, popcorn, marshmallow pops and a guitar cake but I also decided it would be nice to serve rock candy, pop rocks and sixlets.  The kids had a great time filling their chinese take out boxes with the special treats and the box already had 80's sunglasses, roll on body glitter, lip gloss, temporary tatoos and some chocolate candies in it.

The kids played dress up with several shoes and clothes that I provided.  They actually had so much fun doing this that we didn't get to play any other games.
Needless to say, this party ROCKED!!

I can't believe I forgot to put the cupcakes out on  the right to make my table complete.  Maybe I will find a pic that someone took.

Bubble gum takes me back to childhood

My niece absolutely loves gum, or "bum" as she calls it.  I couldn't wait to make this cake for her for her 2nd birthday.  Do you love it as much as I do?

I think she definitely enjoyed this cake, before we could get any more good photos she was already eating all the silver fondant off the cake.

My new design

I can't wait to show you what I am currently working on.  I got a call from my little brother and he and his wife wanted a cute cake for their daughter's 2nd birthday.  Here is a little sneak peek of what the theme is.

Peanut Butter Bliss

Chocolate Cupcakes

1 box of triple chocolate cake mix
4 eggs
1 cup of vegetable or canola oil
1 pkg of instant chocolate pudding
1 cup of water
1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Peanut Butter Fluffed Frosting

1 1/4 cup of creamy peanut butter
4 tablespoons of butter (I used salted and softened)
8 oz cream cheese
1 1/4 cup confectioner's sugar
1 cup of whipped cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
2-3 tablespoons of whole milk
Garnish: crushed peanut butter cups

Preheat oven to 350.  Fill cupcake tins with liners.  Break 4 eggs into mixing bowl, mix and gradually add in oil.  Once emulsified add in pudding mix.  Continue mixing adding in your water and alternating it with your cake mix.  Beat on high for at least 2 minutes.  Fold in chocolate chips.  Pour into liners a little over halfway (I use an ice cream scoop to help do the trick)  Bake at 350 for 16-17 minutes.

In a mixing bowl, mix together peanut butter, butter, cream cheese until well incorporated.  Add in vanilla and mix.  Slowly incorporate sugar until a frosting like consistency.  Add in sugar and beat on med high, add in milk gradually as needed.  Fold in whipped cream.

Frost cupcakes!!  I used the Wilton Decorator Pro I got for Christmas, it did a nice job.  I was impressed!!

A Winter One-derland

I was recently approached by a friend of mine Robin (from TuTu Chic Bebe) who actually helped make my daughter's first birthday outfit.  She wanted to throw her  daughter  a first birthday that she wouldn't forget and she wanted me to design the cake.  We threw some ideas back and forth and finally agreed that she would be doing a winter one-derland theme.  She would be doing shades of pink with accents of silver and white and snowflakes would be the focal point.  Think very girly!!  I broke out the disco dust and fondant and had a ball.  This is the cake I came up with along with 25 cake pops to match
