Chicken Noodle Soup

2 cups cooked chicken
(I usually boil 2-3 chicken breasts for about 20 min or use a rotisserie chicken and pick off as much meat as you would like in your soup)
2 quarts chicken broth
1 medium white onion chopped
3 carrots peeled and sliced
3 celery stalks sliced
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
1 teaspoon parsley
1 bag of egg noodles or kluski egg noodles
(Most of the time I use kluski noodles)
2 tablespoons butter
Salt and pepper to taste

In a large pot over med high heat, melt butter and add in chopped onion, carrot and celery. Cook veggies until onions are softened and a bit translucent. Add in poultry seasoning, salt and pepper. Next add the chicken broth and cooked chicken. Once chicken broth comes to a boil add in your noodles and cook for as long as they say on the package. If you are using kluski noodles, you may not use the whole bag. I usually use the whole bag of just regular egg noodles but it depends on what your family likes.
I try to pack their lunches the night before and spend a little time on them. My oldest really doesn't care about having what I call lunch love but my 6 yr old just absolutely loves it. I packed her a sandwich and some chips for the first day of school but I didn't stop there.

Take a look at the sandwich I made. I drew on the bread with edible markers and I am sure she was the talk of lunch when her friends saw this. I also wrote on the outside of her chip bag. It's the little things that matter the most for kids. My daughter came home that day and raved about how her friends were all jealous of her lunch and that she loved me very much for the awesome lunch.

I guess it is all about "the little things".Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13988073076912797714noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2009179676334005734.post-44977630486171272002011-08-20T21:53:00.000-07:002011-08-21T17:49:20.134-07:00Garlic Parmasean Chicken Wings

<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I absolutely love fresh food. There is nothing better than fruits and vegetables and I take full advantage of that in the summer time. I guess my 6 yr old daughter has the same feelings because she was really excited when I took her to the fruit/veggie stand this past Saturday. When we walked in I told her to grab some of her favorite fruits and then when I asked her what she wanted me to make for dinner all she said was please please make your guacamole. In her words my guacamole is "to die for". This makes me laugh because she is only six but I guess she gets her love for food from her momma. I use my homemade pico de gallo in my guacamole recipe so I have posted both. I hope you enjoy as much as my daughter does!
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
I was recently given a task of doing a birthday cake for a 3 yr old that was just like her favorite stuffed animal. I love the way it turned out.
I am working on a new project though and I can't wait to share it with you!!! Stay tuned!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13988073076912797714noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2009179676334005734.post-22138790559010581532011-02-24T18:51:00.000-08:002011-02-24T19:03:28.852-08:00My Valentine's Day table.....a little lateI recently won a contest on one of the blogs I follow and she happens to be one of my favs!!! Give it up for Genevieve of Celebrate2da...The Superchick Way!!! She sent me a box full of goodies and I got to set the table up for my girls for Valentine's Day. What could be better??? My girls love being the guinea pigs for anything I create. You can see the items I received in my box by going to the original post, HERE!!!

I found an old sheet of my daughter's that kind of went with the Valentine's theme and then I went to town setting up all the stuff I had received. I also made some marshmallow pops that were covered in dark chocolate and crushed pretzels and took the easy way out and bought some heart shaped donuts from our local Walmart to set up on the table. The girls were very excited and pleased with how everything turned out. What do you think??
Bella came to me and said she wanted a Hannah Montana party and I love themed parties but sometimes I feel as if characters like Hannah Montana get used a little too much. I talked to my daughter and we agreed that a Rock Star birthday would be appropriate with some Hannah Montana mixed in.

I recently saw a blog post from Hostess with the Mostess where a valentine's party was being featured and it included a rock - n - roll sign that said: "Love Rocks!" and I instantly knew it would be wonderful for my party. I emailed Piggy Bank Parties and requested a custom banner to say: Bella Rocks!. They got back to me right away and that was the start of the party.

I decided to make cake pops, popcorn, marshmallow pops and a guitar cake but I also decided it would be nice to serve rock candy, pop rocks and sixlets. The kids had a great time filling their chinese take out boxes with the special treats and the box already had 80's sunglasses, roll on body glitter, lip gloss, temporary tatoos and some chocolate candies in it.

The kids played dress up with several shoes and clothes that I provided. They actually had so much fun doing this that we didn't get to play any other games.
Needless to say, this party ROCKED!!
I couldn't wait to make this cake for her for her 2nd birthday. Do you love it as much as I do?
I got a call from my little brother and he and his wife wanted a cute cake for their daughter's 2nd birthday. Here is a little sneak peek of what the theme is.

Chocolate Cupcakes

1 box of triple chocolate cake mix
4 eggs
1 cup of vegetable or canola oil
1 pkg of instant chocolate pudding
1 cup of water
1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Peanut Butter Fluffed Frosting

1 1/4 cup of creamy peanut butter
4 tablespoons of butter (I used salted and softened)
8 oz cream cheese
1 1/4 cup confectioner's sugar
1 cup of whipped cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
2-3 tablespoons of whole milk
Garnish: crushed peanut butter cups

Preheat oven to 350. Fill cupcake tins with liners. Break 4 eggs into mixing bowl, mix and gradually add in oil. Once emulsified add in pudding mix. Continue mixing adding in your water and alternating it with your cake mix. Beat on high for at least 2 minutes. Fold in chocolate chips. Pour into liners a little over halfway (I use an ice cream scoop to help do the trick) Bake at 350 for 16-17 minutes.

In a mixing bowl, mix together peanut butter, butter, cream cheese until well incorporated. Add in vanilla and mix. Slowly incorporate sugar until a frosting like consistency. Add in sugar and beat on med high, add in milk gradually as needed. Fold in whipped cream.

Frost cupcakes!! I used the Wilton Decorator Pro I got for Christmas, it did a nice job. I was impressed!!
She wanted to throw her daughter a first birthday that she wouldn't forget and she wanted me to design the cake. We threw some ideas back and forth and finally agreed that she would be doing a winter one-derland theme. She would be doing shades of pink with accents of silver and white and snowflakes would be the focal point. Think very girly!! I broke out the disco dust and fondant and had a ball. This is the cake I came up with along with 25 cake pops to match
It was a taping of a new show with Robert Irvine as the host and is called Restaurant Impossible. I have seen Robert Irvine on Dinner Impossible several times so I was elated to be able to attend. I could bring someone along and I immediately thought of my sister who is in love with The Food Network as much as I am.

We arrived at Meglio's an Italian restaurant in St. Louis, MO and had to stand outside until they were ready for us to come in and eat dinner while being taped. Was this really happening? I could feel the excitement getting to me. A guy with a headset on came out to give us a briefing of what we should and shouldn't do. All I can really remember out of the whole thing was that we were NOT to look directly into the camera. This was repeated several times.

When we walked in the place was fantastic. It was filled with neutral tones and reds and the lights were beautiful. We were sat at a corner booth, very cozy. We were approached by Robert Irvine before we ever really got a chance to look at the menu. He sat down at our table and I think my jaw hit the floor and I became one of those people who couldn't say or do anything so I just decided nodding my head up and down would be best for now. He was asking if we had ever been there before and about how The menu I must admit, took me by surprise. They had appetizers like fresh toasted ravioli and calamari. There were a variety of entree's like steak, chicken, fish and of course pizza. My sister and I agreed to order the calamari and our other friends at the table ordered the fresh toasted ravioli and Ahi tuna. We all decided to try each other's appetizers and this worked very well as we got a taste for everything The calamari melted in your mouth and was in a sage butter cream sauce or at least that was my guess on what I thought it was. The toasted ravioli was the best I have ever had. Next came my entree, I ordered the Sea Bass and I was defiinitely in heaven when I tasted the first bite. It was so juicy and seasoned very well. It was rested on top of a potato hash that had a fresh tomato marinara sauce. I was very pleased with the whole dinner. This is when the fun began. The crew came over to record us eating and saying what we most like best about the meal. If we didn't say what they wanted to hear we would have to repeat ourselves and then do it again if necessary. This was such a fun experience as I had never been involved in anything like this. When we done taping, I didn't believe that I had just experienced everything I had. The moment was definitely surreal.
Sorry for being gone so long but I have had so much going on which is why I needed a little break. I hosted a 1st birthday party for my daughter Hayden and then I had my significant other's son turn 8 the very next weekend so I had a lot to pull off. I am so excited to share with you the party I had for Hayden Olivia. I have been planning this party for months and knew when I saw the party printables at The TomKat Studio that I had to have a candy themed birthday party. Hayden is my last little one and the youngest of 3 girls so I had to go all out for this party. I used many blogs that I follow as inspiration but Kim from The TomKat Studio has definitely been one of the greatest inspirations of all. I saw her pictures and blog about her daughter Kate's lollipop birthday and that's where it all started. I decided on a color palette first and the bright colors just made it so much fun. Here are some of the pictures from the party, hope you enjoy and find inspiration for your next party.
